Artist's Description

The first and original portable parking space painting in this series "Port-A-Park". was painted in 1979 and exhibited at the Columbia Museum one-man show by Blue Sky entitled "Nights" in 1979-80. The painting was then placed on loan to the Mississippi Museum for a few decades after his one man show there and usually featured alongside their purchased assemblage/painting "Air Brakes", a well traveled and well borrowed assemblage. The one pictured here is the second in a series of portable parking space from the series "Portable Reserved Parking" that exhibited at the Chicago Museum in the early 80's as part of an exhibit where Sky won the national AVAII award representing a 10 state region. It then exhibited at the Mint Museum, the DeCordova, the Equitable Gallery in NY, Waterworks Arts Center, & Georgia Tech in the architectural school. "Visitor Parking" was the 3rd in the series and it often was shown with "Portable Reserved Parking."
