Artist's Description
I moved to Santa Monica, California for a few years. Soon after, this caught my eye as I was crossing the street. I photographed it, standing in the middle of the street as they were stopped at a stop light. They must have thought I was crazy, but I guess they are use to that in California. I embellished it quite a bit though, adding the girlfriend photo on the dashboard, things like that. I gold leafed the strip on the truck. The painting is currently on loan to the city of Santa Monica.
About Blue Sky
Blue Sky was born Warren Edward Johnson in Columbia, South Carolina (1938). Sky has painted professionally for over 55 years, and is solely supported by his art since 1970. His works are in the Smithsonian and many other museums. He is best known for his trompe l'oeil mural and masterpiece, TUNNELVISION (1975).
