Sullivan's Island metal print by Blue Sky. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

I painted this on location in Sullivan's Island, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina - one of my favorite places. It is very difficult painting outside from life, but I always enjoy the challenge. You don't have the luxury of time and you have to capture the scene as the light is constantly changing. So keep in mind that this is a plein air painting that I completed in one day several years ago.
About Blue Sky
Blue Sky was born Warren Edward Johnson in Columbia, South Carolina (1938). Sky has painted professionally for over 55 years, and is solely supported by his art since 1970. His works are in the Smithsonian and many other museums. He is best known for his trompe l'oeil mural and masterpiece, TUNNELVISION (1975).
