Summer off McMeekins Point canvas print by Blue Sky. Bring your artwork to life with the texture and depth of a stretched canvas print. Artist's Description
This was painted on location from my boat on a summer day after a bottle of French wine. After painting this in 1998 we kept it in our private collection and years later I did a larger studio work named McMeekins Point using this as a study, much like the old masters did in their works. It's a beautiful area of Lake Murray in my hometown of Columbia, South Carolina. For this study I created a hand-painted frame for the work that is not shown here.
About Blue Sky
Blue Sky was born Warren Edward Johnson in Columbia, South Carolina (1938). Sky has painted professionally for over 55 years, and is solely supported by his art since 1970. His works are in the Smithsonian and many other museums. He is best known for his trompe l'oeil mural and masterpiece, TUNNELVISION (1975).
